Cross Country Grooming Report
Cross Country Trail Updates:
The Access Road to Island Lake is currently being groomed at least once per day.
Half of Rail Trail (south side of the access road) was groomed today. Not all trails are open yet due to early season hazards.
The Lake Trail up at the Lodge was also groomed today. Due to the cooler temperatures, the groomers are holding nicely. Meadow loop has also been groomed.
The Lazy Lizard Trail, and while it has not yet been groomed, the trail itself is now free of barricades and good to go.
Winter Lunch & Spa
If you’ve never visited the Lodge in the winter before, consider joining us for lunch or a spa treatment…
Open daily from now until January 7th, lunch is offered 11am-2pm – Advance Reservations Required. Spa is available 9:30am -4pm, with advance reservations also required. *Service not available Christmas Day*
We’d like to remind trail users of a few important points:
If you’re planning on enjoying the beautiful scenery along our access road, please remember that first and foremost, it is our route for transportation of all staff and guests to and from the lodge. You should expect to encounter both snowmobile and snow-cat traffic while on the road; please yield to all oncoming traffic and stay to the side of the road wherever possible. We will keep you posted as and when we are able to open the trails that skirt that road, as well as the trails up and around the Lodge itself.
Island Lake property is restricted to non-motorized use. On all trails, dogs must be under the control of the owner. A dog not under control poses a significant threat to wildlife, other trail users and Island Lake staff. Dogs are allowed at Island Lake Lodge only if leashed, accompanied by and under the control of the owner. Please clean up after your pet.
Never travel beyond signs that read: DANGER AVALANCHE HAZARD GUIDED GROUPS ONLY. Read and follow all other informational and safety signs on Island Lake property.
We’d love to see your photos this winter, so be sure to share them across social media using #islandlakelodge and #lodgelife. Above all else, enjoy the fresh snow and beautiful surroundings! We look forward to seeing you at Island Lake this winter.
