You Can't Visit Fernie Without A Stop To The Bear Bistro

The Bistro is open during the summer season Friday-Tuesday, 11am-5pm, with our last seating at 4:30pm. Reminder, we have private functions throughout the summer, so be sure to check the calendar prior to your visit to avoid being disappointed.
Due to operational congestion during peak times, we reserve the right to limit large group tables.
Getting Here
The Bear Bistro is located up at the lodge, after entering our property's gates, you drive up our access road approximately 8KM to the top. Please note, the road is rugged and has a max speed of 30KM/hour - allow yourself about 20 minutes. Take your time and be mindful of others on the road.
Visiting by bike, you can take the Lazy Lizard bike trail all the way up to the top. Bike racks are located right in front of the Bistro entrance. We do try to encourage all riders to use Lazy Lizard instead of the access road.
Hiking up, from the lower parking lot, hop on the Rail Trail which connects to the Old Growth Trail, from there you can hop on the Lake Trail which will have signage for the Lodge.
Blackout Dates
Island Lake Lodge has closures for Private Functions and Non-Operational Days throughout the season, be sure to check the calendar before you visit.
