Pre Christmas Super Storm

October 11, 2013

It was the week before Christmas last December and Island Lake had a massive snow storm hit.  A warm and wet system from the South collided with a cold front the North.  The 2 system stalled over Fernie and Island Lake for a week.  The result was 2 metres of snow or about 6 1/2 feet of powder snow in 6 days.  It was cold, dry champagne powder and those that experienced it are still dreaming about it.
